Carole Lombard Jewelry Collection |
Carole Lombard was an American Actress and comedienne who starred in some of the most successful comedies of the 1930's. Her big break finaly came when Twentieth Century (1939), in which she atarred with John Barrymore in what many regard as the films of the screwball comedy genre. These films established Lombard as one of the leading comis actresses of the 1930's and served as a showcase of her quirky persona of sophisticated glamour. At the peak of her popularity, Lombard along with 20 others were killed in a tragic plane crash outside Las Vegas, Nevada in the late 1940's. Her memory will forever live on in the gorgeous jewelry she wore. The Emerald Diamond Ring jewelry was worn in her last film, 'To Be or Not To Be' starring Jack Benny. On the arm of Clark Gable, she proudly wore the Black Deco Premiere Ring jewelry to the film premiere of 'Gone With the Wind' and certainly certainly befitting a pair of stars in love. Her cherished Double Band Love Ring, given to her by husband Clark Gable, was a symbol of their unending love affair.
