Signed to her first contract with MGM in 1939, Ms. Garson appeared in her first film “Goodbye Mr. Chips” in the early 1940’s.  She received her first Oscar nomination for the role.  Nominated thereafter for seven Academy Awards and winning two of them… one for Best Actress in 1942.  Greer Garson died of renal failure in Dallas Texas in the late 1960’s.
